Refund Policy – Door County Property Sentinel

Door County Property Sentinel (“we,” “our,” or “us”) strives to ensure that all fees and payments associated with our property‑management services are transparent and fair. Because most of our charges—such as rent, security deposits, pet fees, late‑payment penalties, and application processing fees—are either required by lease agreements or are used to cover costs that are incurred at the time of service, they are generally non‑refundable. Security deposits are held in a state‑mandated escrow account and will be returned, minus any lawful deductions for unpaid rent, damages beyond normal wear‑and‑tear, or outstanding charges, within thirty days after a tenant vacates the premises and the unit has been inspected. Application or screening fees are considered administrative costs and are non‑refundable, even if an application is declined. If a rent payment is inadvertently made in excess of the amount due (for example, due to a duplicate transaction or an over‑payment), we will promptly refund the surplus to the original payment method within ten business days after the error is identified. For any prepaid services that are canceled prior to delivery—such as a scheduled premium cleaning or a one‑time maintenance visit not yet performed—we will issue a full refund provided the cancellation is received at least 24 hours before the scheduled service; cancellations made with less notice will be subject to a 50 % cancellation fee to cover labor and scheduling costs. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to at owner@doorcountypropertysentinel.com, including the original receipt or transaction details and a brief explanation of the request. We reserve the right to dispute any claim that does not comply with the terms outlined in the applicable lease agreement, service contract, or this policy, and we may retain any amounts owed for outstanding balances or damages before processing a refund.
